Today, I needed a birthday card, so I broke out June's kit of the month, all smiles.
Its a simple card where I focused on texture. Lately I've really been drawn to white. I guess when it is so hot, the white makes me feel crisp and cool. I've also got a semi new rule for myself - to use my scraps when I make most of my cards. I always have left overs after working on layouts More so, actually, as I gravitate more and more towards cardstock bases with printed accents (vs. full multi sheeted layered printed paper layouts...) My house also is slowly trending towards white backgrounds with all the print and color in textured accents. Strange how things change over time.
I colored directly onto the rubber with my Marvy pens, then tapped with a slightly darker color randomly in spots to give it some interest. After I huffed and stamped, I accented it with penwork and stickles.
Twine is from Martha Stewart, embossing folder is cuttlebug, pearl from Prima, and dies from PTI
