hip hop July 29, 2010

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday! It is CHA week and so very exciting! Have you been following the previews on the Unity Blog? This is always that time when I have to sit on my hands b/c my wallet starts to scream at me! :)

Its the last week of July, and so I have my final July Kit of the Month card for now.
(sorry, my light is kind of wonky this week - the picture is slightly off.  That's what I get for working in the wee hours of the morning)

My images are shadowed with Pebbles iridescent chalk, and highlighted with glitter and glazing pens.  The scallop is a die from Spellbinders.

I also have candy.  Leave me a comment about what you've seen in the CHA previews that is really inspiring you.  You can win this GORGEOUS Suzi Blu image...

Hip Hop July 22, 2010

Hello everyone! Happy thursday this July 22th!!  Welcome to Unity's Hip Hop!!  Its been tough busy week and all I can say is I am so glad its almost friday!!!

Today, I'm playing with the July Kit of the Month and the gorgeous Graphic 45 paper, this time, the On The Boardwalk collection.

Its kind of hard to see, but the center of the flower is this cool flock/glitter stuff I bought at the stamping convention called sparkly fluff by craft lounge.  SOOO cute (and the first flock item that I have successfully used.  Past attempts were utter disasters!  But with the Sakura quickie glue pen (also a craft lounge recommendation), it was easy peasy....

So leave me a comment about what new product you've discovered lately that you just LOVE?  and you can win the Lollipop Tree You and Me kit

Hip Hop July 8, 2010

Welcome to our Graphic 45 hip hop!! Today, we're featuring the most beautiful lines from Graphic 45, a stunningly gorgeous vintage papercrafts manufacturer whose products will make you gasp with ever new release!!

Today, I had a great time using the le Romantique collection with the wedding images from the July Kit of the Month, Happily Ever After. My sample features the sentiment stamped over a beige piece of cardstock that is stamped with very lightly with the circular dove image so that it matches the subtle textures of the background papers.  A plain piece of cardstock would have been too bright.

Be sure to check out all the blogs for more beautiful Graphic 45.

Tutorial - Decorated Snack Pack

Hello everyone!! Popping in with a tutorial for a decorated snack pack, a great little pick me up for a gym buddy or a crop buddy.

Start with the Yoga Girl image, stamped on Bazzill Simply Smooth paper. To get a perfect "match" with your paper, stamp the pant part of the image on the paper, and then cut it out and paper piece it to your colored image (I am using some Basic Grey scraps).

Finish coloring image in, using matching colors to your paper scraps.    After you're done coloring, cut her out and set aside.

Measure cardstock base to width of ziploc sandwich size bag
Fill your baggie 1/3 with trail mix
push out all the air, "zip" the top up, and fold it down twice and tape in back to secure

Fold your cardstock base in half, adhere a strip of coordinating striped paper to the back, a 1/2 oval cut from the same paper as the pieced pants of the image, then adhere the finished image to the top.  Use letter stickers to spell your message, then staple to the top of your snack bag

Enjoy!
