Lifetimemoments friday 1-30

Its friday reveal day and the theme was dates!!

My crop-mates used to laugh at me because I am always compelled with a date on every layout - i've probably got the world's biggest collection of date stamps. :)

CHA 2009

There is something very exciting about being "at CHA" - so full of energy and hope and products.... AHHHHH. I spent the day meeting people and taking pictures - they're being premiered at Lifetime Moments. As always, for the majority of the products I saw, the impact of them never hits me til I see the samples made with them - and then I get totally inspired. I took over 780 pictures of mostly samples before my battery died, so check it out....

The new Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters line, the Luxe Its About Time line, and Unity Stamp Company's new Be Owl Mine and Love Grows kits

The second one is just me playing around with the cool "outline your letter stickers" technique inspired by Tracy Hudson... This is Sassafrass paper. (sorry for the poor pix. I'm too lazy to redo it right now. Sorry. :( My adrenaline rush kind of disappeared...)

some blessed creative time

after such a tough week at work, it is such a release to get lost in my ink and paper....

My first piece is an entry into a creative journal challenge at lifetimemoments. Week 1 - what is your personality?

This uses scraps, and a bunch of paint, and a stamp from the GROW kit from Unity Stamp Company

My next piece works on some of my scrapping goals for this year, which is to get back to the story telling vs. focusing too much on the artistic elements. My son's "what i'm thankful for" essay for Thanksgiving this year. The original will get tucked in behind the layout in the scrapbook. This uses the School Rock Star and the January Kit of the Month from Unity Stamp Company, and the Basic Grey granola line.

"confidence"

This uses the new heidi swapp paper, the one with the 2" strip of diecuts? an entire self contained layout all on its own. I literally only added letter stickers and a scrap PP from my stash. And i loved how it turned out.

The stamped "frame" is IOD from Prima.

the second project is a standard layout.... "Goal Two"

back to my scrap/stamp room

After the long hiatus, it felt good to get back into my craft room..... I cleaned up folders on my computer and officially opened up the folder for 2009. Here are a few of my first layouts this year. Its nice to be back into it.

1) delightful

I'm getting really into smaller multi photos and lots of white space. I think its the result of scrapping single enlarged photo layouts that didn't really have an associated event for many years, and having lots and lots of filled scrapbooks that the kids look at and go "eh?" - they much prefer the story layouts and I've started to love them again too... its also been totally helpful to control the volume - we would have run out of space quickly under my old single/photo/layout system. Don't get me wrong. I'll still do the single photo layout - I tend to get a bit more artistic with those, and I love that too. Its just going to be much more mixed up this year.

PP is anna griffin; stamps are Growing in Unity by Unity Stamp Company

2) tree picking

When you have a blankish sheet of paper with busy pictures, I like to just stamp a frame onto the paper, and put my pictures on top - using embellishments to add visual interest as opposed to more printed paper that distract from the pictures.

PP is BoBunny; Stamps are Our Life Our Stories by Unity Stamp Company

TFL! Last day before we all officially get back into our normal routines. Enjoy your day. :)
