Hip Hop March 31, 2011

Good morning everyone!! Last hip hop for March...!!

A friend recently recommend  a book to me "365 Thank Yous" and it was all about how this guy cultivated an attitude of gratitude through thank you cards, and in doing so, made a huge change in both his outlook, and also, his ability to achieve his goals.  It totally inspired me to be much more sensitive to all the little things people do, and to recognize them.  And so, I've set out to keep myself well stocked with blank thank you cards to use.  Here's one I did using the co-branded Websters Pages "Love"

The paper is Basic Grey's Pyrus, and dies from Spellbinders and Quickutz (back when they were quickutz).  The little flower posy is by Doodlebug.

Hip Hop March 23, 2011

Good morning everyone!!

Its Hip Hop and I made a clean and simple card with the flower stamp from this month's kit of the month Just You

I used colorbok chalk inks, which I love for the way the colors are opaque and sit on top of each other.

Hip Hop March 17, 2011

Good morning everyone!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  I'm traveling again for work this week, so scheduled this post early.  I hope it goes live ok...

Last Friday, we were all gripped by images of the large earthquake in Japan, and the ensuing Tsunami.  In the days since, the news is filled with stories of a potential nuclear event.  The devastation, the death, the fear, the toddlers being checked for radiation break my heart.  And so, as I sat down this weekend to create something for hip hop, I really wanted to capture my hopes and prayers for the Japanese people as they move through this.

I am taking the she-art class with Christy Tomlinson and created a background using a napkin that my DD used to wipe up her paint mistakes.  From there, I added a large variety of unity stamps from numerous kits, plus some Unity background stamps (perfect for this mixed media).  Topped it off with this sweet angel from Suzi Blu Chickadee

Hip Hop March 10, 2011

Good morning everyone!! Welcome to Hip Hop for March 10, 2011.

I felt like coloring today, so I inked up the cute mermaid from Cosmo Cricket cobranded itty bitty Swim Party.

I love her almost kewpie look.

Design Team Tuesday

Hi Everyone!!

It is Design Team Tuesday at Unity, and I was up today...

My life in the past two years changed so dramatically from what it was before - I work alot, I travel alot for work, and then I work some more.  Some days are so stressful.  Those of you who know me well have watched me struggle to find my balance again.  I miss the days when I could make something every day. But underneath it all, I know that although I cannot see my friends as often as I did before, everytime we do see each other, its like walking into a warm hug that stays around me, sustaining me until the next time we are able to see each other again...

Yesterday, it was one of my special someone's birthday and I wanted to create something really nice.  I went with Suzi Blu, a collection of bits and pieces from some past kits of the months and store kits, and created a pretty card/tag for some spring flowers that I left on her doorstep this morning before work.

The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had.  ~Author Unknown

Happy birthday to you J!!

Hip Hop March 3, 2011

Good morning everyone! First week in March and today, I'm playing with an itty bitty from the Webster's Pages cobrand stamp, Love, and I gave myself a challenge to do a back to basics card:  1) pure cardstock and 2) use only ink to paper - no coloring.  I love how it turned out.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
